Set up a POP3 or IMAP connection to your email in Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013

If you’re using Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013, you may be able to connect using Exchange instead of through POP3 or IMAP4. Connecting using Exchange gives you calendaring and collaboration features that you can’t get if you connect using POP or IMAP

1. Open Outlook. If the Microsoft Outlook Startup wizard appears, on the first page of the wizard, click Next. Then, on the E-mail Accounts page, click Next to set up an email account.

If the Microsoft Outlook Startup wizard doesn't appear, on the Outlook toolbar, click the File tab. Then, just above the Account Settings button, click Add Account.

1. Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types, and then click Next.
2. On the Choose Service page, select Internet E-mail, and then click Next.
3. Provide the following information on the Internet E-mail Settings page.

Under User Information:

1. In the Your Name box, enter the name you want users to see when you send email from this account.
2. In the E-mail Address box, enter your email address.

Under Server Information:

1. Under Account Type, select IMAP or POP3. We recommend using IMAP because it supports more features.
2. There are two different types of email connections, Secure SSL/TLS or Non-SSL connection. The setting information can be found on your control panel.

Login https://your-domainname/cpanel

-> Email account

-> Select “Configure Mail client” under the “More” drop-down menu.

Find Incoming Server and Outgoing server information to fill. We recommend selecting Secure SSL/TLS settings.

Under Login Information:

1. In the User Name box, enter your email address.
2. In the Password box, enter your password. If you want Outlook to remember your password, make sure the checkbox next to Remember password is selected.

1. At the bottom of the page, click More Settings, and then fill in the Internet E-Mail Settings dialog box as follows:

On the Outgoing Server tab, select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

On the Advanced tab:

1. Select port number

1.1 If you select Secure SSL/TLS, which means you put mail.servername on incoming and outgoing server under server information,

tick “This server requires an encrypted Connection (SSL)”,

Select “SSL” next to “Use the following type of encrypted connection” under Outgoing server (SMTP)

Secure SSL/TLS Outgoing Port number for SMTP – 465

1.2 If you choose non-select Secure SSL/TLS, which means you put mail.your-domain-name on incoming and outgoing server under server information, tick “This server requires an encrypted Connection (SSL)”

Non Secure SSL/TLS Incoming Port number for IMAP – 143

Non Secure SSL/TLS Incoming Port number for POP3 – 110

Non Secure SSL/TLS Outgoing Port number for SMTP – 26

1. If you're using POP3 and you want to keep a copy of your messages on the server, under Delivery, click Leave a copy of messages on the server. If you don't select this option, all messages will be removed from the server and stored locally on your computer.

1. On the Add New Account page, click Next. After Outlook tests your account, click Close to close the Test Account Settings dialog box.
2. On the Congratulations page, click Finish.
3. On the Account Settings page, click Close.
4. If you're using IMAP, a message may appear asking you if you want to download folders for the mail server that you added. Click Yes. Use the Outlook user interface to select which folders to synchronize between the server and your local computer, and then click OK.

For Windows hosting customer

To set up Microsoft Office Outlook 2010:

1. Open Microsoft Office Outlook.
2. Go to File > Info > Add Account.
3. Select the checkbox Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click Next.

1. Select the Internet Email option and click Next.

1. Specify the following:

• Your name.
• Your email address.
• Account type. If you want to keep copies of messages on the server, select the IMAP option. If you do not want to keep any messages on the server, select the POP3 option. Selecting IMAP will also allow you to train the SpamAssassin spam filter on email messages you receive if SpamAssassin is enabled on the server.
• Incoming mail server. Type your domain name. For example, example.com.
• Outgoing mail server (SMTP). Type your domain name. For example, example.com.
• User Name. Specify your full email address. Example: johndoe@example.com.
• Password. Most likely, this password coincides with the password you use for logging into Panel.
• Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA). Leave this option cleared.

1. Click More Settings, open the Outgoing Server tab and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

1. Click Next.
2. Click Finish.
